Hannah Starr, MA

Hannah grew up in Houston, TX but has called Nashville home since 2017. She holds a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Trevecca Nazarene University. Hannah also holds a bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Health Science with an emphasis in trauma from Grand Canyon University. She is a provisionally licensed LPC-MHSP (Temp) in the state of Tennessee. Hannah has worked in different facets of non-profit work and with several anti-sex trafficking organizations over the past 10 years and has been connected in various capacities to Rest Stop Ministries since 2018.

Hannah is passionate about partnering and walking alongside others in some of their most difficult moments to help them reach a sense of hope and healing. She believes that we are designed to heal. Hannah’s greatest priority is creating an atmosphere of safety where her clients can feel seen, heard, and understood. Her approach is trauma informed, holistic and relational. She is trained in EMDR and uses somatic, attachment based, experiential approaches that acknowledge the whole self in the process of healing. Hannah enjoys incorporating faith in the counseling process.

Outside of the office, Hannah enjoys writing, dancing, spending time with family and friends and enjoying a good cup of coffee. She loves being outside and hiking with her goldendoodle, Marigold. She feels honored to be on staff with RSM and considers her work at RSM to be a sacred gift as she is invited into each resident’s story and healing journey as trauma therapist.
