We love to see God's Church in action, serving as the hands and feet of Christ! ⛪

Our friends from @CrossPoint.TV Church, Mt. Juliet campus, recently spent a Wednesday afternoon at Good Hope Farms doing just that. Each year, during the church's annual Serve Week, they faithfully show up to love and support the survivors in our care by helping bring beauty to our property.

This time, our staff suite in the residential home needed some extra TLC, and this incredible team stepped in to paint a large, high-ceilinged room. All afternoon, they worked with joyful hearts, positive attitudes, and plenty of smiles along the way.

Thank you, Crosspoint Church Mt.Juliet, for your continued partnership and for living out our mission to Restore Survivors and Stop Oppression!

🌿May is Mental Health Awareness Month. 🌿

What is a good day for you? Your idea of a good day may change over time, and only you can define what that looks like for you, personally.

It is hard to admit our mental health struggles to others. You may fear being treated differently, losing friends, or even losing your job. Mental health stigma comes from a lack of understanding or fear. There are 3 types of stigma surrounding mental illness.

Public stigma: involves the negative or discriminatory attitudes that others may have against mental illness.

Self-stigma: the negative attitudes, including internalized shame, that people may have about their own mental illness.

Structural stigma: is more systemic. It involves policies of government and private organizations that intentionally or unintentionally limit opportunities for people with mental illness.

These stigmas do exist, but together we can reduce them by remembering that words matter, choosing empowerment over shame, talking openly, and educating ourselves and others.

If you struggle with your mental health, you are not alone, and More Good Days are ahead!

🌿May is Mental Health Awareness Month. 🌿

This year's MHAM theme is "More Good Days, Together." This starts with each of us reflecting on what a "good day" looks like. Together, we can use that personal insight to connect to the right support at the right time.

Join us this month as we:

🌿Take a closer look at the stigma that often surrounds mental health struggles and how to define your "good day".
🌿Share simple ways to improve your own mental health.
🌿Look at the tools we offer the survivors at RSM to heal their whole self: mind, body, and soul.
🌿Share valuable mental health resources to help you and those you love.

As we prepare for our 14th Annual Rest Stop Ministries Gala: Unmasking Freedom, we are honored to highlight our wonderful sponsors!

The generosity of our sponsors ensures that every dollar raised during the event will go directly toward the continuum of care for the survivors in our residential restoration program.

We are excited to welcome back @GradeAConst as one of our Freedom Circle sponsors!

Grade A Construction is a female-owned construction company that has seen success because of its faithfulness and love for what they do. Grade A's OSHA-certified general contractors strive for the success of every project. Based in Mt. Juliet, TN, and serving the Middle Tennessee area, they specialize in general contracting, construction management, utilities, site grading, and much more!

The women at Grade-A Construction have been long-time supporters of our mission and ministry as Gala sponsors. They've also chosen RSM as a beneficiary of their annual charity fishing tournament in the past.

We are grateful for Grade A's continued support of the survivors in our care!

Today we wear denim. 👖

Each year, on the last Wednesday of April, we observe Denim Day.

This campaign began after a ruling by the Italian Supreme Court to overturn a rape conviction because the justices felt that, since the victim was wearing tight jeans, she must have helped the person who raped her remove them, thereby implying consent. Following that reversal, the women in the Italian Parliament came to work wearing jeans in solidarity with the victim.

Created in 1999, this inspiring and powerful campaign calls us to stand in solidarity with and support survivors by renewing our commitment to exposing harmful behaviors and attitudes surrounding sexual violence. Denim Day stands as a statement against the many misconceptions that continue to surround sexual assault.

Will you join us in wearing denim today? Post your Denim Day photos in the comments.
